Quite possibly the best stop motion music video I have ever seen.

The song isn't bad either.

Oh yeah, the Turtles are playing FloydFest this year. Only 12 more days - cant wait.

I've heard nothing but great things about FloydFest . . . always wanted to go but never have. Amazing lineup this year! I have to say, however, that I wish a lot of festivals (Jazz Fest comes to mind) would book fewer bands, let the bands that they do book play longer, and have less overlap between bands. It sucks when you're at a festival and two great bands (both of whom you want to see) are playing at the same time.

Question Mandojammer: how hard is it to book a hotel for Floydfest within 30-45 minutes of the festial? Impossible??

DD - Christiansburg is the closest city and is about 45 minutes away. Plenty of hotel space there. Floyd has a a few places but I'm sure they are full.

Now the real question is this.....why would you ever want to leave the fest site? Bring a tent and sleep in the woods with the rest of us. I've been going for the past 5 years and have always camped on site.

Especially when you look at the lineup for this year - check out the schedule. Some of the shows aren't even scheduled to end until 3AM. Lat year Papadosio played from 1 AM until 4:45 AM.

I am going to be on site on Wednesday afternoon. If it's at all possible for you to get there I would be happy to pitch a tent for you so you have some square footage.

Holler if you are interested and we can take it off line.

That's very kind of you to offer, Mandojammer, and I'm sorely tempted to take you up on it.

However, I'd have to arrive by air, and it would be pretty challenging to bring all the stuff I'd need to camp comfortably (chairs, coolers, sleeping bags, air mattress, etc.) with me on the plane.

Maybe I'll get on couchsurfing.org and see if there are any couchsurfers in the area . . .

Listening to Max Creek at the moment & enjoying!

DD - it's almost as if they anticipated your dilemma.

Show Sherpa is working FloydFest this year.

http://www.theshowsherpa.com/

All you have to do is show up and they have all your gear ready to go.

So now how tempting is it?

Sam Bush, Del McCoury, David Grisman, Tony Rice, Taj Mahal, Yonder Mountain, New Monsoon, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Grace Potter, Railroad Earth, Donna The Buffalo.....

You get the point.

Thanks again for the offer, Mandojammer, but it looks like FloydFest just isn't in the cards for me this year.

Hope you have great weather & a great time!

HOLY @#$%!!!! LOL

Now why didn't I think of that?!?!?

What a GREAT idea!!

I've got a poker tournament that starts in 30 minutes that I've got to get to; afterwards I've got some serious thinkin' to do.

Much thanks for the info Mandojammer!!

DD - I just checked the site and they are sold out of FloydFest packages.

Despair not.....

I have 6 tents, 4 backpacks, 3 sleeping bags, 1 hammock, 3 coolers, 1 stove, a canopy, one lantern and 6 camps chairs.

I am taking 1 tent, 1 backpack, 1 sleeping bag, one cooler, one lantern, the hammock, the canopy and two camp chairs.

Do I need to throw more in the back of the truck and should we talk more?

Don't thank me - it's the darkest, damnedest video you'll ever see, but the stop motion is amazing, and it's from like 1992 or something:

The antidote to Tool is Green Jello's classic Little Pig ... sure, it's claymation, but it still rocks

Will you be taping again this year? Still listening to downloads from last year...particularly Grace & the Nocs.
